9. Akram Hosny ft. Ayten Amer – Setto Ana
In April, Egyptian comedian Akram Hosny and singer Ayten Amer released Seto Ana. The song is from the well-known Ramadan television series Maktoub Alaya. Seto Ana finished at number 9 in the top 10 of 2022, in part due to the fact that the song went viral on TikTok. On YouTube, the video has been posted numerous times. These generate 108 million views in total.
8. Ali Loka – Matkhafesh Yamma
The year 2022 was the breakthrough year for Ali Loka. In November 2021, the Egyptian rapper released his single Matkhafesh Yamma. The accompanying video clip had few views on YouTube at first, but that changed in 2022 when the track went viral on TikTok. This eventually resulted in over 108 million views!
7. MC Artisan ft. Didine Canon 16 – Glock
MC Artisan and Didine Canon 16 provide the second Algerian track on the list. The two rappers demonstrate that Algerian rap music is booming once more. Their track Glock received 123 million views on YouTube, putting them in seventh place in the Top 10 most viewed Arabic songs of 2022!
6. Wegz – El Bakht
At number 6 we find another rap song. This time, it’s from Egypt. Wegz’s track El Bakht was released at the end of February. The song has received over 162 million views on YouTube since then.
5. Myriam Fares – Hatha El Helo
Myriam Fares performed the song Hatha El Helo live during Expo 2020 in Dubai. The Lebanese singer decided to upload the song to YouTube at the request of her fans. That’s a good thing, because the song, sung in the Iraqi dialect, finished fourth in the Top 10 most popular songs of 2022 with over 175 million views!
4. Ahmed Saad – Aleky Eyoun
The first ballad in the list comes from Ahmed Saad. The Egyptian singer released the track Aleiky Ayoun at the end of February. Since then, the romantic love song has received over 192 million views on YouTube, ranking fourth.
3. Ahmed Saad & Celia – Sawt El Eid
Every Ramadan, major corporations release a song featuring a well-known Arab singer. This year, telecom operator Zain was able to attract Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad. He released Sawt El Eid with the young Egyptian singer Celia. With the song Ahmed Saad earned a second spot in the Top 10 of best Arabic songs, after receiving more than 255 million views.
2. Karim Mahmoud Abdelaziz ft. Mohamed Osama – El Ghazala Ray2a
El Ghazla Ray2a, featuring the young talented singer Mohamed Osama, was published on December 23, 2021 as a promotion for Karim Mahmoud Abdelaziz’s new film ‘Men Agl Zeko.’ The music video was on its way to become the most viewed Arabic single of 2022 when it was unexpectedly removed from YouTube in March. The counter had reached 215 million views at that time. The cause for its removal is yet unknown. Fortunately, an audio version of El Ghazala Ray2a is still available on YouTube. Over 86 million people watched this video. This raises the total number of views to almost 300 million, good for a respectable second position in the Top 10 in 2022.
1. Elissa & Saad Lamjarred – Men Awel Dekika
In May of this year, Elissa and Saad lamjarred joined forces and released their highly anticipated duet Min Awel Dekika, sung in the Egyptian dialect. It was practically inevitable that it would become a huge hit because it features two of the greatest Arab stars. And this is exactly what happened. With 305 million views, their romantic duet is the most viewed Arabic song of 2022!
